frog – frozen yogurt bar

After being gone for another week of work travel (this time at SXSW in Austin), I am now home in LA and craving all of my comfort foods. One treat that I haven’t enjoyed in a while is frozen yogurt. My favorite make-your-own yogurt bar is called Cherry On Top in Pasadena. It’s a bit of a hike, so my friend and I decided to try the latest in our neighborhood: Frog.

As a bit of a yogurt bar snob, I wasn’t expecting much of the little joint. Upon walking through the door, we were greeted by the super cool, quite friendly staff. As usual, there were little tiny sample cups for you to test drive all of the yogurt flavors. I am a sucker for a great “Original Tart” so that’s where I went first. Frog’s Tart wasn’t as tart as I would have liked, but it was nothing short of delicious. Other yummies were the Coconut and the Red Velvet. I opted for my usual Tart layered with strawberries, blueberries, sweetened coconut, blackberries, caramel chips, and a little blob of crushed peanut butter cups. Of course I can’t resist tossing in a few frosted animal crackers and a yogurt-covered pretzel for dipping…This combo rocked it and totally hit the spot. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by Frog at 1550 Cahuenga Blvd. in Hollywood.
